I saw that video this morning and I think his opinion makes him sound like an ass, but the fact that he is not, at that very moment, wearing a "flag pin" doesn't matter one way or another.
The whole idea that you can quantify "patriotism" in a lapel pin is asinine. This guy is making a major fool of himself, and it only serves to make Obama look even more untouchable that he has to resort to oddball stuff like this.
